Meet the Therapist
Amy Primrose
Counsellor/Psychotherapist
I am a dedicated psychotherapist deeply committed to guiding individuals and couples on their paths to healing and self-discovery.

With ACA-accredited qualifications in Counselling and Psychotherapy, I bring extensive expertise, particularly in couples counselling, attachment trauma, family dynamics, and fertility counselling. My personal life journey has endowed me with unique insights into the complexities of the human experience, fuelling my passion for supporting others on their healing journeys. As a mother of three and with nearly 18 years of marriage, I understand the intricate challenges and rewards of relationships.

I hold a Bachelor of Education and a Postgraduate qualification in Counselling with a specialisation in Relationships and Families (Hons). I am currently finalising my Master's degree in Counselling, with a focus on Relationships, Family, and Child and Youth Therapy, set for completion in 2024. My ongoing professional development includes specialised training in addressing Betrayal, Secrecy, and Relationship Rupture through a blend of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Additionally, I have advanced training in Reproductive Trauma and Attachment, focusing on EFT for those navigating infertility, pregnancy loss and Postnatal Depression. I am also trained in Integrative EMDR, Somatic Therapy, Gottman Method, Compassion-Focused Techniques and Internal Family Systems (IFS), all aimed at healing relational trauma and attachment wounds.

At Calming The Circle Therapy, my goal is to create a nurturing environment where you can embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and enlightenment. Whether you seek support individually or as a couple, I am here to hold space for you, helping to calm your inner nervous system, or as I like to call it, 'the circle.' Within this space, you will find safety, understanding, and support as you explore and heal, fostering deeper connections and a profound sense of inner peace.

Yes. Absolutely. It is my preference to meet in person at least once, however if you do not live on the sunshine coast, Telehealth is the way to go.
