At Calming The Circle Therapy, we utilise an integrative approach that combines various therapeutic interventions inclusive of Gottman, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems techniques to provide personalised and unique care. Led by therapist Amy Primrose, Calming The Circle Therapy aims to support identifying and healing from past experiences, making the implicit explicit for both those in the relationship. We work to break negative communication cycles and address patterns of behaviour that impact relationships. By exploring love languages and attachment styles, we help couples understand and connect with one another on a deeper level. Emotional and physical intimacy is explored in an open and safe way, where couples are able to explore their physical attraction with the hopes of guiding them to a more fulfilling sexual relationship.

Our Approach
At Calming The Circle we take a real approach to what is a very real life challenge. It is relational and hard to change. Our transformative approach opens up each others eyes to the underlying issues and with knowledge change is possible.
Therapy begins with an open, honest, and authentic first meeting, providing a safe space for both partners to share their perspectives, build a connection with the therapist and set the foundation for growth. We then revisit the history of the relationship, exploring its joyful moments and positive memories. This process helps us reconnect by identifying the parts of your relationship that brought you happiness and can potentially be rediscovered or rekindled.
Following this initial phase, each partner will attend an individual session. These one-on-one meetings offer a valuable opportunity to explore personal histories, including past relationships, family systems, self-esteem, and traumas that have shaped who you are today.
After these foundational sessions, we embark on an 8 to 12 - week program designed to deepen understanding and address core relational themes. This program covers essential topics such as trust, commitment, emotional safety, relational traumas, shared values, life dreams, power dynamics, roles, conflict cycles, triggers, intimacy, sex, romance, passion, insecurities, and learning practical skills and couples meditations.
For those eager to progress quickly, we can arrange double sessions within a week or even back-to-back within the same day to accelerate the process.
