Marriage And Relationship Counselling Sunshine Coast

Working with couples across the Sunshine Coast

At Calming The Circle Therapy, we work with couples across the Sunshine Coast to help them reconnect, communicate effectively, and navigate life’s challenges together.

Our integrative approach combines Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques, allowing us to create personalised sessions for each couple. We understand that human beings are wired for connection, and our earliest relationships profoundly influence our current communication patterns and emotional bonds.

Led by therapist Amy Primrose, our marriage and relationship counselling focuses on breaking negative communication cycles, addressing behaviour patterns that cause disconnection, and helping partners understand each other on a deeper level. We explore love languages, attachment styles, and intimacy in a safe and open environment, guiding couples toward a more fulfilling and connected relationship.

Why Couples Seek Counselling

Couples counselling on the Sunshine Coast can help with a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Emotional intimacy and connection difficulties

  • Communication breakdowns

  • Financial disagreements

  • Jealousy and trust issues

  • Infidelity or betrayal recovery

  • Life stress, health challenges, or major transitions

  • Blended family or parenting conflicts

  • Differences in values, beliefs, or spirituality

  • Work–life balance struggles and role strain

  • Mismatched physical intimacy or desire

  • Repetitive arguments with no resolution

  • Navigating separation or divorce

  •

Whether you’re trying to save your relationship or find clarity on your future, couples therapy offers a safe, non-judgemental space to explore these challenges.

Our Approach

At Calming The Circle Therapy, we take a real-world approach to what is often a very real-life challenge. Relationships are complex, but with awareness, tools, and support, change is possible.

Our process includes:

  1. Joint Initial Session – An open, authentic meeting where both partners share their perspectives, connect with the therapist, and establish therapy goals.

  2. Exploring Relationship History – Reconnecting by identifying positive memories and the moments that brought joy to your relationship.

  3. Individual Sessions – One-on-one sessions for each partner to explore personal history, family systems, self-esteem, past relationships, and life experiences that influence the current relationship.

  4. 8–12 Week Program – Covering essential topics like trust, emotional safety, shared values, life dreams, power dynamics, triggers, conflict cycles, intimacy, passion, insecurities, and practical relationship skills.

For couples wanting faster progress, we offer double sessions in the same week or even

back-to-back on the same day.
