Yes. Absolutely. It is my preference to meet in person at least once, however if you do not live on the sunshine coast, Telehealth is the way to go.
While it's ideal to attend sessions together, one partner can also begin the process. Often, this creates a ripple effect that encourages the other partner to participate.
Every couple is different, but many begin to notice shifts within the first few sessions. Some couples attend short-term, while others continue therapy over a longer period to build sustainable changes.
Therapy provides a safe space to explore whether the relationship can heal or how to separate with respect and care. Many couples find clarity and direction through this process, even if it leads to different outcomes.
You may benefit from couples counselling if you are experiencing:
Frequent arguments or unresolved conflict
Feeling emotionally disconnected or distant
Decline in physical intimacy or affection
Trust issues following secrecy or infidelity
Struggles with parenting styles or family dynamics
Difficulty navigating major life changes, such as a new baby or career stress
A sense of loneliness, resentment, or frustration in your relationship
Your first session is about building a safe space for both partners to share openly. We’ll:
Discuss your goals for counselling
Explore your relationship history and strengths
Identify the key issues you want to address
Set a plan for moving forward together
This session is also an opportunity to see if we are the right fit for you as your Sunshine Coast couples counsellor.
